Karen Liu, President and Founder

Karen Liu is founder of Bizventuredoc.com, Young Urban Professionals Meet and StylingBride. Karen's expertise is in marketing campaign and strategy development, event management, and marketing and business plan creation. With an MBA in Marketing and Human Resources, and a desire to further her education in Law, it is no wonder that many see Karen as a think tank.

In her spare time, Karen is also actively involved in the community as an executive board member with various non-profit organizations in Vancouver. She also serves as a mentor for the Vancouver Board of Trade Leaders of Tomorrow Program. Karen is an entrepreneur at heart (speaks for YUPM and others); she believes it is her ambition, drive, motivation, and ability to push for results that gives her success. Being a role model for the upcoming generation and helping cultivate leadership in the Asian community is her dream.

Karen is not all about work and no play; she loves to hike, run, cycle, rollerblade, swim, experience new restaurants and places, and of course, to volunteer. While she finds adventure in the outdoors, she also enjoys a quiet night at home from time to time, whether spending it with family and friends or reclining in an armchair with a book. Friends and acquaintances always admire Karen for her energy and passion for life.

Wendy Kam, Marketing Director

Wendy was born and raised in Toronto, ON and attended UofT where she completed her B.Sc.Hons degree and then post-graduate studies at Centennial College for E-Commerce and Marketing. She spent the past 4 years coordinating various programs, projects and events in the healthcare industry. In 2004 she spent several months traveling through Southeast Asia and Western Canada before settling in Vancouver, BC and working for an executive recruitment firm. Most recently this big city girl made her way back to the East Coast and calls New York City her playground and home. In the meantime she has also decided to give the corporate life a rest and looks forward to pursuing her other passions of exploring entrepreneurial endeavors, gourmet dessert making, writing and of course being a part of YUPM!
